SAMIR SAMMOUN

SAULE, ST-BRUNO (BA-6596)

At the sight of this willow at the feet of Mont Saint Bruno, I was overwhelmed by its majesty; like a sphinx at the feet of the pyramids. It was a beautiful summer day and it was caressed by a beautiful breeze and projected its silhouette in the calm water of the lake. So, it was necessary to paint it in vertical to give it everything deserved. Imposing but graceful it invites us to a siesta accompanied by a glass of wine. Of course I had those in my possession! It emerged as a sketch first in the open air and then I painted it in my studio on a 48×36 canvas. I often painted willows in the botanical garden but this one occupies a particular corner in my heart.
