NICOLE LAPORTE

EN FINALE (25543)

The night is clear but cold. Yesterday it snowed on the village nestled in the hollows of the mountains. The fireplaces smoke their maple wood keeping the villagers warm in their cottages.

Some children are busy dressing a snowman while their father is once more plowing the walk to the house.

A local farmer arrives in his red pick-up truck, while a few walkers turn to the gathering point, the ice rink, a small frozen pond that has been carefully cleared of snow. Here we are not afraid of the cold. Spectators wrapped in their wool coats and their mittens are already in place to watch the hockey game played between young boys of the village and the surrounding area.

The players are very motivated. Some even proudly wear their new “Canadiens” sweater.

It’s winter in Quebec.
