Born in 1976, French Canadian Artist Mike Allard finds his inspiration in everyday landscapes, cityscapes and the people that surround him. Mike studied at the Ottawa School of Art where he then went on to work in portraiture producing graphite and charcoal renderings for clients in the region. His careful attention to detail and love of realism now makes oil painting his natural medium. His work explores the dynamics and relationship between transparent and opaque layers of paint setting the mood and atmosphere often times in monochromatic fashion.
Mike continues to work in the Nation’s Capital capturing the beauty and intrigue of the world around him, saving these moments in time for eternity.
