It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lise Labbé on July 28, 2026.

Born on September 23, 1939, in Montreal’s Rosemont neighborhood, Lise grew up capturing the warmth, vibrant spirit, and simple joys of Quebec in her heart and on her canvases. A self-taught artist, her celebrated paintings preserved the innocence of childhood, alleyway hockey games, and the nostalgic scenes of post-war Montreal. Through her extraordinary talent, vibrant colors, and meticulous attention to detail, she brought comfort, smiles, and fond memories to thousands of art lovers across the province and beyond.

Above all, Lise lived with intuition, emotion, and an unwavering devotion to authenticity. Her art was a true extension of her soul—rich with humor, warmth, and a deep love for life.

Her light, artistic legacy, and generous spirit will live on through the timeless art she gifted to the world and in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The works of this sensitive and attentive artist can be found in several collections across Canada and are available in the country’s best galleries.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life.
