About the artist

There lives in GillesLabranche’s (1947-2025) paintings the atmosphere of old neighborhoods in the early morning, when everyone is still asleep and the streets are empty.  He grasps the exact moment when time stands still just before the city awakens.  It is this unique character that he strives to reflect in his work.  He paints the old houses and the soul thus imparted by their inhabitants.
