ABOUT THE ARTIST

Nicole R. Grisé has always been fascinated by the beauty of what surrounds her. She began her career with oil painting and sculpture. She subsequently became interested in watercolor where she excelled for 27 years. She won numerous prizes there, including the first Maurice Domingue prize in 2003, awarded by the Canadian Watercolor Society (SCA). She also won first prize from the Canadian Watercolor Association, the gold medal in 2011.

She discovered another passion and acrylic became her favorite medium to express what she felt. Her creativity leads her to always go further and her abstractions are filled with emotion and atmosphere. She flourishes by playing with colors but it is the colors that speak to her and invite themselves.

To her credit, she has had eleven solo exhibitions in renowned galleries and numerous group exhibitions. She is a member of the Canadian Watercolor Society as well as a member of the Institute of Figurative Arts (IAF).
