Born October 18, 1938 in Bagnaturo in Abruzzo, Italy, even before he was ten years old, Littorio Del Signore already impressed his teachers in primary school with the quality of his sketches. To the point that they organized itinerant exhibitions of his works. He began working with oil at the age of 12, and in order to buy equipment, he painted houses or sold photographs he took of villagers. Two years later, seeking an opinion on his paintings, he presented some to Panfilo Del Beato, who encouraged him and took him under his wing. The young artist even ended up becoming a teacher.
In the following years, Littorio Del Signore continued his career as a painter and photographer, then moved to France just before turning 21. It was there that he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Annecy and won several awards that made him known. From 1960 to 1977, his paintings earned him 26 distinctions. His first academic style evolved to abstraction and eventually to Impressionism, which he adopted most of the time. Since 1978, he has lived in Montreal and children who play in the streets have inspired intriguing scenes that have made his reputation around the world.
Littorio Del Signore has been painting for 50 years. Since 1969, he has had more than 30 solo shows in Italy, the United States and Canada.
