Gilles Charest is a Quebecois painter born in Montreal in 1947 . His artistic journey is notable as he first studied pedagogy, literature, and administration at the University of Montreal before changing careers. In 1975, he co-founded an advertising agency where he held the position of creative director.

A passionate art collector, Gilles Charest dedicated himself diligently to painting since 1990, making art his full-time way of life since 1999. He is also a sculptor.

Gilles Charest’s works have been exhibited in galleries since 1999 and are found in collections in Canada and the United States. He also participated in artistic events in Europe.
