Born in Bulgaria in 1958, Steven Lamb studies graphic arts and engraving at the Sofia Academy of Fine Arts, right after high school and a mandatory two year military service.<\/p>\n

He then studies painting and graphic design in Leipzig, in the old Eastern Germany.<\/p>\n

He then works as an independent artist and has his first show in Sofia in 1986 and a three city show in Easter Germany.\u00a0 This leads to an invitation to show his work in Cuba.<\/p>\n

On a layover in Newfoundland, he gets off the plane and seeks asylum in Canada.<\/p>\n

He lives and works in Newfoundland for a while but soon moves to Montreal.<\/p>\n

His work is close to grotesque but always keeps a touching human side, vying to be a commentary on class and the masses.<\/p>\n
